I'm a longtime appreciative diner from the east coast, and have given a suggestion now and then, from my neck of the woods. Now, due to the brain being somewhat jet lagged, I failed to ask these questions in advance. I've gone through the posts but have seen no suggestions for sushi in Burbank or Glendale. We are taking four others out for dinner, our treat, tonight, no less, and don't want to mortgage my home, since these young guys can eat. Any suggestions for another day. Sushi on Bond was mentioned, and I saw something on San Fernando, forgot the name. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry I don't have any recommendations for Glendale/Burbank, but not too far away from Glendale (about a 10 minute drive) is Silverlake, and there are several options there including Sushi Shibucho (3114 Beverly Blvd., L.A. 213-387-8498) and Saito Sushi (4339 W Sunset Blvd, L.A. 323-663-8890), both of which have been discussed at length on this board.

Also a possibility would be to hop on the 134 Freeway to Pasadena (about a 5-10 minute drive from Glendale) where there are several options including Sushi Roku (33 Miller Alley, Pasadena 626-683-3000).

Thank you to all for your suggestions. Went to Glendale, sushi was good, just not impressive, but wefound a new place that looks really fresh and quite reasonable. It's called Octupus, and it is in downtown Burbank.

Ichiban in the Brand Blvd Marketplace (on the Maryland side). Very good sushi as well as hot dishes. VERY reasonable. Also good on Maryland a little north is Zono, with another(?) outpost in Burbank Mall by the AMC North. A Japanese-American friend swears by a place in the strip shopping center where Verdugo and Olive cross. Don't know the name. Finally, there's that place on Palm, just east of San Fernando Rd. Pretty good the one time I went.
Next time, I'd go with Ichiban or Zono.
