Where to Get Duck Breast in East Bay?

Hi all. I frequent 99 Ranch, Berkeley Bowl and Safeway for my grocery shopping, but have not seen duck breast in any store - 99 comes closest with duck legs and whole duck. Where can I go in East Bay to get duck breast on a regular basis?

Thanks!

  1. At Saturday's farmers market in Palo Alto, I noticed that the Fabrique Delices booth had duck breasts and duck fat for sale, as well as sausages and cassoulet. The office in Hayward is said to allow you to pick up your orders there.

I believe they are usually at the Saturday Grand Lake market, and the Sunday Montclair market as well.

Thanks, I was too lazy to look 'em up. (vbg) Should note that Fabrique Delices is selling fresh duck breast, which is what I think Maple is seeking.

They have fresh and smoked breast. And confit. And rendered duck fat. All your ducky needs!

They are also at the Friday Old Oakland Farmers market and, IIRC, the Sunday Oakland Montclair market.

Not sure about east bay, but the WF in Los Altos usually has whole ducks, breasts, and other bits. My memory is that Fabrique Delices is less expensive, though.

        2. The Village Market in Oakland on Broadway Terrace and Clarewood usually has duck breasts. If you call they will hold them for you.

          1. Cafe Rouge butcher shop almost always has them.

I believe I have seem them at Richmond Costco, vacuum packed.

Stopped at Costco today they had only the confit at about$8.60/pound.
Previously had smoked duck breast, not today.
Grimaud Farms fully cooked duck confit (two legs per package)
Grimaud Farms fully cooked smoked muscovy duck breast

A little off-topic but I recently purchased the duck confit and instead of getting two large legs, I got 4 smaller legs. Not sure if the two packages I bought were just anomalies or if that's what's they're doing now. (in the past, they were always 2 larger legs per package.)

            2. They have them at Enzo meat market in Market Hall, but I'd call ahead to check, sometimes they're out. Their prices are also a bit high, so I'd also compare prices per pound a bit.
