Black Raspberry Ice Cream

  • Share

When I was a child, my favorite ice cream was black raspberry from this little farm in NJ that had real, freshly churned ice cream. I wish Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory had Black Raspberry, but alas they do not. Can anyone tell me where the best black raspberry ice cream is. I would take gelato (I think I have seen it at l'aboratorio), but prefer hard ice cream.

Thanks

  1. Try Blue Marble Ice Cream on Atlantic Ave. in Boerum Hill, BK. I also tried their Mocha flavor, which is also pretty damn good.

I have heard that this place is great. I just need to find the time to get all the way out there. Any thoughts about a good place in Manhattan? Emack and Bolio only has it in low fat ice cream and it's not true Black Raspberry.

    2. Try Friendly's!! I just checked and they have tons of NY locations, hopefully one that is close to you! When I was in high school I was obsessed with their black raspberry ice cream, so much so that I used to sneak out and cross a really busy street (risking my life as well as getting grounded) just to get it! I live in CA now and miss it terribly!!

I grew up with a Friendly's in my town and used to love their black raspberry. Unfortunately, the one in my hometown has gone out and there are none in Manhattan. If there were, I would be all over it.

Emack & Bolio has one with Chocolate Chips that's great. Otherwise, call "Sundae's and Cones" on E. 10th Street and see if they have it - they have the BEST crative Ice Cream Flavor in NYC (Corn, Wasabi, etc!!!!) Adorable place too!!!!

      2. i also love black raspberry! i buy breyers brand. its good. lots of icecream parlors will have BR just for the summer season. the soft is awesome too. :)
