a few chocolatier summer closings in Paris 2008
hello chowhounds! i want to thank everyone for all their informative posts-- i read this board often and have learned a lot from you.
i am currently in paris until the beginning of august. since i'm traveling solo and trying to save money, i've made it my mission to focus on some of the "can't miss" sweet treats and snacks instead of the wallet-busting restaurants. i also plan to bring back chocolates for "my friends." hehehe.
anyway, if anyone is wondering, here are some of the chocolatier closures i've learned of for this summer:
Pierre Herme: july 26
Michel Cluizel: august 2
JP Hevin: rue vavin - july 26; rue st honore - week of august 11
Christian Constant: open all summer
Jean-Charles Rochoux: august 1
Galler: august 2
as far as i know, these are the last days these shops are open till at least late august. i apologize if the dates are a little off-- my french isn't the best! i'd suggest you call ahead if it's super important to you.
OH NO!!! I am going to be in Paris only for a day next weekend and had planned to visit PIERRE HERME for some Ispahan and mini macarons. Is this confirmed?

sorry, theskyflyer, i just walked by the store on rue bonaparte today and their last day is saturday! not sure if their other location is open but i suspect not.
update: Michel Chaudun stays open all summer but i think Gregory Renaud is closed. i went by this afternoon and it was all locked up even though they're supposedly open on thursdays according to the website.
