Helados Vasquez - Gelato in Black Rock!

Tried the new Gelato place in Black Rock (Fairfield/Bridgeport border) - Helados Vasquez - twice now and it's great! Everything is made on the premises and the love shows. So far I've tried the chocolate/coconut/banana and stracciatella gelatos, as well as the mixed berry and lemon flavors which I believe were sorbettos. All were fresh and flavorful without being cloyingly sweet. Though I only had a tiny sample of it, the green apple flavor was tart and refreshing and definitely something out of the ordinary.

The gelato transported me back to Florence. I went with the intention of trying the chocolate/coconut/banana (not terribly Italian) but was disappointed to find they did not have it. Instead I stuck with the Italian staples (Nocciola and cappuccino). They were unbelievably tasty. Perfectly portioned too. I cant wait to go back.

I cant find the exact address but is on Fairfield Ave right next to the new Ash Creek Saloon. Brand new facade with nice sign...cant miss it.

I love that place. The pink grapefruit is amazing. They also serve a different meal every day, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
