Dairy Fresh Candies, North End

Quick question here...does anyone know if Dairy Fresh Candies is open currently. I am heading into Boston tomorrow and was planning to stop in.

The closing of Dairy Fresh breaks my heart at Christmas time. For more than 20 years I've been buying their hand-dipped chocolate cherries and turtles for my aunt and uncle's present. And we always picked up dried fruit and nuts, torrone for my dad, and other candy for ourselves. The sons of the owner were so nice, and they always remembered me. I frequently thought it would be nice to marry one of them (even though I'm happily married)! I hope they're thriving, wherever they are. And I guess I'll be making my own candied orange peel this year.

thanks for the reply. I am sorry to hear that. I've been going there for over 40 years...since I was a kid. I haven't been into the city since last August...

Does anyone know why they closed?

Yeah, it's so sad to see something that's practically an institution - gone. The original owner passed away, and his children decided to call it quits.
