San Diego Family Food
We are heading to Mission Valley next week for a few days. I'd love to find some family friendly restaurants, especially Mexican and seafood/fish. We plan to spend an afternoon in Balboa Park and some time in Old Town. Is Old Town only full of touristy, overcrowded places, or is there a good one there somewhere? Also, anything in Mission Beach? I understand that is the closest beach to our hotel. All recommendations appreciated!
Mission and Ocean Beach are very close. Hodads is a San Diego staple that serves hamburgers. It is kind of divy, and my family kids, 6 & 8, love it.
Not far is Pint Loma Seafood, they close early. It is a fish market that also has salads, sandwiches and fish plates. Very casual, seating is on the water at picnic tables.

World Famous is right on the boardwalk just north of Mission Beach and it's a great spot for families, not to mention, the best place to watch the scene. They have nightly specials in the bar area but I'm not sure if it's limited to 21+ for those. I know the restaurant is family friendly tho.
In Old Town I recommend Casa Guadalajara. Sure it's touristy, but that's what you'll be right? It's a fun spot for a meal and a margarita if you're in the area.
Have a great time!
