Grand Canyon NP South Rim Eats

Not being picky here. Wwill be arriving at sunset and want to reserve for after sunset dinner. Casual would be great. How is The Bright Angel resto and the other casual, non cafeteria food. We will be at El Tovar but don't want to eat there. Any places in the Village that open early for a coffee and pastry or yogurt?

We're staying at El Tovar in Sept, just curious why you don't want to eat there.

WE will have been travelling from 5am, want to see sunset and don't want to have to go back to hotel room, shower, get dressed up and spend more money. Want something cheap and casual for this part of our trip.

HOw is El Tovar?? the menu looks a little on the steep side. Is the quality of food worth the price tag?
If booking reservations do you reserve a window seat for view?
