Nice in North Central NJ?

After a less-than-stellar experience at Mosaica last summer, I was hesitant to return...but we recently did. The service was fantastic and accomodating, and everything we ordered was good to excellent. We will definitely go back soon. I'm so glad to have a nice kosher place in the hood and avoid the trip to the city.

We're going back to Fumio (we went the week it opened so it was hard to judge)...but in the meantime, wondering if there's anything else in the area we should try?

Thanks for the update on Mosaica. I live a mile from there and I haven't been there yet! What a sin! :-)

I'm really curious to hear how things are at Fumio.

I heard from friends that Fumio is overpriced with small portions. My friends were unimpressed.

I'm really surprised to hear that. We've been to Fumio three or four times since it opened, and actually found the portions to be huge - particularly the sushi portions. The rolls are definitely larger than what we expected compared to abigaels (green tea lounge), or haikara before it closed. We really were thrilled with the food and service - we only don't go more because it is not that close to us.

Agreed. Sushi is outstanding, a little more expensive, but the rolls are huge. Eliminates the need to drive to Teaneck from this area. Have never heard complaints about portion size. Maybe they need to order the 32 oz Cowboy Steak.
