MKE - lunch on a Saturday

this is kind of lame, because I live in Milwaukee. I have 3 kids 4 years old and younger, so I don't get to dine out very much.

my problem, many of the restaurants I see getting favorable reviews are not open for lunch on Saturday. Does anyone have recommendations for a decent, relaxing Saturday lunch where we can enjoy the food and a couple glasses of wine? Downtown/3rd Ward, East Side, or 'Tosa area.

thanks much.

When I lived in Wisconsin, I had some nice lunches at Beans & Barley on the East Side.
They are open 7 days a week 8am-9pm.

Good, fresh food, and they have a pretty big menu and deli. They also serve wine in the dining room. They even have PB&Js!

Sometimes the wait can be long, but I have had success walking in a getting a table right away.

A big ol' lunch and a big ol' glass of wine await you at the Pasta Tree as well.
Definitely one of my favorite Milwaukee spots.
The Gorgonzola Alfredo sauce is insanely awesome.

        Lunch: Tuesday - Saturday: 11:30am - 2:00pm

that settles it. I haven't been to the pasta tree since the 90s. I did not think to look there for a Sat. lunch. thank you very much.

And I haven't either. Please post back when you go. We may go this week, and I'll do likewise. It was, and I hope still is, very good.

We enjoyed it very much. Good food and service. We split a bottle of wine. It was very relaxing.

Trocadero on Water or I actually enjoyed Coast - great views and the food was much better than I expected after reading some reviews.

Had 1 good lunch at Palms and one so-so, but I do like the setting and the friendly staff.

        Is Coquette open on Saturdays?

Trocadero might be the way to go - have lunch on the patio. Saturday lunch is a tough time to find a "new" spot (new to us, at least). We've tried Water Buffalo once and will not go back. We tried Palms for dinner once - it was decent. We dig the popovers at Coast. Thanks for the replys.

We have had good meals at Water Buffalo http://waterbuffalomilwaukee.com/. They are right on the river, makes an enjoyable lunch atmosphere. Owned by the same partners is Swig and they are also open for lunch.http://www.swigmilwaukee.com/. We just had an enjoyable dinner there last night. We chose several items from their small plate menu and were pleased.
We have also enjoyed lunch at The Palms Bistro http://www.palmsbistrobar.com
