Where are some of your favorite places to shop for fresh fish, fresh fruits & veggies, bakery items, & general groceries in the Avila/SLO area? I know about Avila Barn and we'll definitely hit that. I'd love to know the best fish market in Morro Bay. Is there anywhere you can buy abalone, or will I have to go to Hoppes for that? Thanks!

Best fresh fish is at Giovanni's on the Embarcadero in Morro Bay.
Do a web search and get a coupon for a discount and find out what is fresh currently.
Had some great local halibut a couple weeks ago.
Farmer's market is Friday night in Avila.

You don't say what days you'll be there, but there is a great farmstand (just veggies, no petting zoo) about 10 minutes south on 101 in Halcyon.
Rutiz Family Farms open Tues and Fri 1pm to 5pm. They are are the Arroyo Grande Sat. noon Farmer's Market in downtown AG as well. Great fresh veggies, sustainably farmed. Fresh local eggs and unsprayed fruits. Right now, you can pik-ur-own raspberries, too. Great folks!! A real treat.

Take the Halcyon Rd exit southbound in Arorroyo Grande. Go straight ahead about 2 miles to THE PIKE, turn right. About 150 yds down on the left. In the spiritual community of Halcyon. About 30 acres of green growing goodness.
