Rehearsal Dinner in Temecula/Fallbrook
(1) If budget allows, the Lawrence Welk Golf Resort would be a nice option for you.
8860 Lawrence Welk Dr.
Escondido, CA 92026
The location is visible and accessible from the I-15 just below Fallbrook about 14 miles. The drive is all freeway, so maybe the extra distance will be worth it?
(2) And, a much more casual (and chain) option would be Claim Jumper. They have many good choices on their menu and this particular location of the chain is a pretty good one.
29540 Rancho California Rd
(3) For outstanding steaks (and pretty well-rounded menu), try the Great Oak Steaks in the Pechanga Resort, Very good food and service.
45000 Pechanga Parkway
General number for Pechanga Operator is (951) 693-1819
I hope you get more options for your important rehearsal dinner.
Baily's on Old Town Front Street can accomodate parties that size either upstairs or out on their patio. (Baily's is owned by the same family who own Baily's Winery.) Good food, lovely setting, and very accomodating staff. Outside Wine Country the only other place I can think of offhand that can seat a party your size is Anthony's (on Winchester x Margarita) but that might be a bit far north for you if you have folks coming from Fallbrook. Anthony's probably costs a bit less than Baily's. Good luck & have fun:-)
(I'm sure you know this but if you open it up to the wineries too you will have more options.)
Well, just going on the number of people limits your choices, but you didn't give many other details.
Even so, I have two excellent recommendations for you (though I don't know your budget).
(1) Penfold's Cattle Company http://www.penfoldscattlecompany.com/
This is in Old Town Temecula and is upscale, reasonable pricing, quality in product and service. Not in wine country, but still exit from I-15 at Rancho California Road (turning away from wine country). Penfold's would set your party on the outdoor patio that is fully covered and shielded from winds, totally comfortable and in October could be better than indoors. The patio will only accompdate about 40 people, but there is a large table (seats 10?) just inside the patio door that would be excellent to flow into and still retain a sense of "private party." Also, a plus is the flow from the patio that goes right past that extra indoor table has a direct path the the bar for those that might want a moment away with a cordial and still feel in a private realm (not zig-zagging through tables or walls
)The greatest plus is that their food is outstanding, but their service is also impressive.
I hope the link will answer some of your needs because you haven't detailed.
The menu choices at Penfold's will accomodate most from fusion (seared ahi) to steak and potatoes.
(1)(b) In fact, an even more private choice if you'd like to dine outside is a "secret garden" just a few doors away at "The Painted Garden." Penfold's will cater there (but you can use any licensed caterer) and you will have the whole place to yourself. It is a "rustic" garden with willow wood loveseats, ironwork and tile tables, arborous iron bench seats, etc. among ancient trees and a mural wall They charge a per person amount that does not include food or beverage and there is a corkage fee, but everything else - including servers, is included such as table linens and serviceware.
(2) May be too far?? up the I-15 - (18 miles north of Temecula) is another private room and great chef at
The Summerly Grill. http://www.linksatsummerly.com/index....
Beautiful venue on the new golf course (The Links at Summerly) and great food (however, it is more luncheon than steak and potatoes. Some of their banquet items (smoked salmon mousse with dill sauce, for example) are really bad, but most of it is good. Definitely do a tasting before ordering. Their regular menu is outstanding and if you can get them to do a sit down dinner rather than from their banquet menus, I would recommend. They have done several luncheons that is menu order for more than 50 people, but pre-set menu. The restaurant closes at sundown, so dinner parties are totally private. Go visit and talk with Mary Anne. I have seen them do large parties (over 50 people) from a pre-set menu off of their regular Grill Menu, so ask for what you want.
If you state your budget, I will try to think of more places that have room for 50 or so people.
