Authentic Chinese - Dover, NH?

  • 5

I'm going to be visiting my brother up in NH this weekend and I wanted to go to an authentic Chinese restaurant (ie, no general tso!) with him since this would be a good opportunity to go outside his usual burger and fries joints. Any recommendations in the Dover area?

  1. Doesn't exist.

You should try "Dave's Spicy House" (Somersworth) for authentic Indonesian cuisine.

The Dave's Spicy House menu isn't posted on their rather primitive web site. I've eaten Indonesian a number of times in Amsterdam. I'll have to gather some people together for a field trip and give that a try.

    2. I'm going to bump this. I live in Portsmouth and am unaware of anything in the area. You can't even get Dim Sum around here.

      1. There is just a run of the mill chinese restaurant named Asia on 3rd St, Dover.

But, with tons of good seafood restaurants in the area, why not try one of them?

And in Portsmouth, there is a good Japanese restaurant, name Sakura. But, it's expensive and I think it's only open for dinner.

In Dover, I like Blue Latitudes.

Asia is mainly a karaoke bar. I've heard from reliable sources that the place is subpar with regards to sanitation and the food is less than "run of the mill."

          Sakurabana has excellent sushi.

Blue Latitudes is overpriced and so-so.

          Go to Portsmouth.
