Best Beer Bars in Portland, OR?

I'm traveling from DC to Portland on Monday for a week. Any suggestions for some good places get some delicous brews?

  1. Horse Brass- Has an English Pub vibe with an amazing selection of beers on tap, a must visit. Not very good food though.
Green Dragon- They have a rotating keg list that is usually pretty outstanding, another must visit.
Some of my other favorites are the Belmont Station which is right around the corner from the Horse Brass and the Concordia Ale House in Northeast Portland.

    1. Agreed about Belmont Station. Henrys Tavern on 12th has over 100 beers on tap. Also, Bailey's Taproom in downtown next to the US Outdoor Store is good place to do some tastings of all domestic craft beers. Close walk to the Pearl for Bridgeport Brewery, Deschutes, Rogue, etc...Hopworks is great in SE for all organic brews. Also, the Brewer's Fest is coming up Thursday, July 24 through Sunday, July 27.

Roots Organic Brewery on SE 7th.

Most any decent bar or restaurant of a certain size will have a great beer selection.

Btw: You'll never hear the term "Beer Bar" in PDX. They are called brewpubs, pubs, or bars.

      2. Horse Brass is great but smokey.

Higgins has an outstanding selection of bottled beers as well as a few choice taps.

If you happen to be in SW/Beaverton, you might stop at the Dublin Pub which has several dozen on tap.

        1. Belmont Station is my favorite, which used to be on SE Belmont but is now on SE Stark.

          1. Admittedly, I've only been to a handful but Widmer is one of my favorites. It's been years since I was there, but I remember the food being very good and the beers are excellent.
