Resturants near Hyatt Union Station in St. Louis

krisz Jul 17, 2008 02:56 PM

Next week we are going to a conference in St. Louis held at the Hyatt at Union Station. We will be staying at this hotel also. We hope to attend a ballgame if we can get tickets, and we have Fri. night free. My husband really loves good food and I wondered if you had any suggestions of somewhere to go that is within walking distance of the hotel or a Metro stop.

We have been to St. Louis many times, although not recently. We've eaten on the Hill and I think will probably just want simple, good food that is easy to get to. We like Indian if you have a suggestion. We are driving to St. Louis, but once we get there, we'd rather not drive.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Walk over to Washington Ave. You have An American Place, 10th Street Italian, Mosaic and the Dubliner (I go there for beer only...don't like the food that much...they may have improved though). You are also close to Anthony's Bar located by the Stadium. GREAT BAR with good food!

If you are going to grab the Metro...go to the Loop...eat at Pi. Great neopolitan pizza. There is also Blueberry Hill for a good burger and Fitz's for a rootbeer float.

You can catch the 93 bus on Wash Ave near the Conv. Ctr and go to Pappy's Smokehouse...BEST BBQ in the City.

A long walk will get you intl Lafayette Square...there is Vin de Set for a great veiw of the city....wine list is good...food is OK. Ricardo's Italian Cafe for good homestyle Italian.

        I'll second the Pi recommendation!

If you're going to end up near Busch Stadium, I really like J. Buck's. http://www.jbucks.com/ I've eaten at the one in Bloomington, IL several times and I don't usually eat at the same place more than once.

Try an oyster grinder at Broadway Oyster Bar.

              It's a unique experience.
