I've been to a lot of the Indian groceries and restaurants, juice bars, and such in NYC, but couldn't find any freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. The kind that's made right in front of you with a dash of ginger and lime. I've had it in other big cities, so I'm really surprised I haven't found it here yet. Anyone know where to get some?

I know you can get freshly squeezed sugarcane juice during the summer month in Richmond Hills Queens down Liberty Ave. I'm not sure about the dash of ginger and lime but you can get just the pure juice. The area has numerous Indian grocery stores. Its off the A train in NYC Lefferts Blvd.

You can also try Washington Heights. There used to be a guy on the SW corner of 182nd and St. Nick that sold sugarcane stalks and the juice (we call it guarapo in DR).
Even if that guy is no longer there, just walk around in The Heights and you will find some, I'm sure.
