Has anyone been lately? Celebrating and thought of this Brad Steelman's supposed to be v.good
Say what you will call it a tourist trap, or a bridge and tunnel haven for no nothing surburbanites, get your nose out of the air this is a first class resturant with great food, great atmosphere, solid service and (of course) high prices. Is it Chanterelle or Daniel....no...but its good very good and yes worth the coin.
We went a few months ago, and were blown away by how good this restaurant still is. We were not expecting a lot since it has been around a while, and I had heard it was past its prime and more of a tourist spot. We had the tasting menu, which was well-paced with great-tasting well-prepared dishes, and was equal, if not better, than some of the tasting menus I have had in Manhattan. The portion sizes were very generous, considering it was a tasting menu. The decor is outstanding (of course!), the service attentive and not overbearing or snooty, and the food sublime. Yes, it is filled with tourists, but still a great experience, and a perfect spot for celebrating.
