Detour for Dinner on the Way to Vermont

Any recommendations for a good, casual dinner, reasonably-priced (kid-friendly place) not too far off the highway on the way from New Paltz to Burlington VT? Thinking of the Saratoga/Glens Falls area but further south or north would be ok too. Thanks.

Glens Falls has Sutton's on route 9 which has very good basic food and is kid friendly and has an interesting gift shop area and bakery to stretch your legs in. Across the street from the amusement park is Martha's for homemade ice cream the kids will love.

John F made a good choice with Sutton's, that would be good with kids, as long as they don't want to stroll through the gift shop and slow the trip up (my kids were notorious for that). Another thought that comes to mind is the Ripe Tomatoe in Balston Spa, sorry I'm not familiar with the area but I don't think it's to far off the highway.
