I've had it in the past, and been eh, underwhelmed. But tonight it was pretty stellar. I sat at the bar, where I helped myself to the somewhat oddly spiced and kind of soggy potato chips (but free! free!). They're the kind that look like burlap - do these have a name? mesh chips? basket-weave chips? Anyway, they were relatively easy to stop eating.

My lobster arrived less than two minutes after I ordered it, which made me beaucoup suspicious, but it did seem to have been prepared fresh. Maybe the kitchen just keeps cranking them out. It was a decent size, properly steamed, as good as most, and came with brunch potatoes and a piece of corn. With two Newcastle pint cans, my tab came to $30, all in. The lobster was $16, the 1/2 price (from 6-9) drinks were $3. And I wasn't charged tax, possibly because cheap lobster dinners count as part of my stimulus package.

To the ladies (http://www.chowhound.com/topics/538881) who wondered what was in those potatoes, I'll bet you dollars to donuts it's Lawry's seasoned salt, or a reasonable facsimile.

Service was cheerful and efficient, crowd was light. Excellent bang for the buck, all around.
