Hey montreal foodies :)

My dragonboat team and I are from out of town but we will be in town next weekend for a race.
We are staying in a hostel on 4136 Henri Julien and I was just wondering if you had any recommendations for great food in that area?
In addition, after our race festival ends, we want to celebrate with an end of the season dinner and I wanted to know if anyone knew of places that would accomodate our party size of 25 people and also offer quality food at a reasonable price?

Thanks for all your help.

Cheers,
Ellen

Le Club Espagnol on St-Laurent near Mont-Royal is very large and used to groups, the
food is quite good (mussels in a tomato broth, tortilla, shrimp etc...) and the prices are
very reasonable. The house wine is decent and so is the sangria. They are on the second floor and also have a terrasse in the back

With 25 people you will almost certainly find it easier to book as 2-3 separate reservations unless you get a banquet room. That way a restaurant doesn't have to worry about serving 25 people all at the exact same time, though you can still get the reservation at the same time. My family did this for a group of 20 at Au Petit Extra and enjoyed it.

Can you give us more information, such as budget per head, preferred cuisines, and number of people? Will there be 25 of you for the first dinner as well?

Hey thanks for the quick response :)

Budget would probably be less than $30 per person, preferably $20 or less if possible since we are all poor students
no preferences on cuisine as long as its good food
and it will be 25 people for all of the dinners

I think for a large group Club Espagnol might be your best bet, but I am not sure if it will meet your budget restrictions since I've never been (but had heard many good things about it).
