Well my spot had been The Fifth Ward when I wasn't working. Happy hour starts at noon and ends at 7. Beers are 2 for 1. Never had the food but it looks like fine bar food. And yes, it's right off East Houston.

On second thought though, it might not be what you're looking for. They do have an outside area in the back...

I honestly love Marshall Stack. It only has a dollar off drinks but it carries an awesome array of beer and wine.

Paladar on Ludlow is another good one. $4-5 drinks from 5-7.

And they make a pretty good michelada, although I make a better one.

I'm partial to Verlaine, even though they raised the price of their lychee martinis (not as revolting as it sounds) to $5.

That sounds like a bargain to me.

will it be packed like can't get a seat at the bar around 6? otherwise think its perfect.

You should be fine (and you have 2 minutes - go!). It's a pretty big place, and I've never seen it that crowded.
