Cilantro Root?

I was curious if anybody knows where to get cilantro root in Seattle? Many recipes I have read have this listed as an ingredient but I have not found it anywhere. Any help or maybe a recommended substitute if there is one?

They usually have it at Uwajimaya. And when they don't they have a sign saying to use the cilantro stems as a substitute.

Thanks for the heads up......I have tried Uwajimaya a few times and I seem to hit it on the days they are out, but will look again. And since I live in Ballard, I'll keep my out there too. Thanks again!!!!

Uwajimaya carries it regularly, though the last time I looked for it a couple of weeks ago they were out - sourcing troubles.

Check the other markets in the ID and Little Saigon if they don't have it at the moment.

I purchased cilantro with the roots intact at Whole Foods last week. I've also seen it regularly at the Ballard Farmers Market. The flavor of the root is very similar to the leaves. So just use more of the leaves, if you're in a pinch.
