Any "houndworthy" spots near Vail

CO 'Hounds

I am going to be in Vail from the 16th through the 18th. Are there any 'hound spots up that way? Maybe where the lift operators eat and drink?

Thanks
Mark

You are in Vail while I'm posting but if you get this check out Moe's BBQ in Lionshead, The Turntable in Minturn or The Saloon also Minturn and for Mexican 'NoSe Hagan Las Bolas' in Avon. These are all hound worthy local establishments that any upstanding liftie can afford and appreciate.

Ti Amo in Eagle-Vail is a laid-back, family-run place. Reasonable prices and great Italian comfort food. Fiestas in Edwards for excellent Mexican/New Mexican fare. Or make a run down to Red Cliff and eat fish tacos at Mango's.

Red Lion is the standard-bearer for locals; tall brewskies, good bar food, service, and repartee on the deck. If you want an evening splurge, Sweet Basil is very cool, from the bar scene to the foie gras.

The places where the lifties eat are not necessarily Hound-worthy. The hourly employees can't afford those -- and in fact, a lot of them live down-valley in Edwards or Eagle. If you're only there for a couple of days, you might not want to bother.

My favorites in Vail are Sweet Basil and Terra Bistro. I do like Dish in Edwards.
