My friend has just gotten into the whole raw thing. Yuck. But if we're ever gonna eat together again, I gotta find something at least palatable. Suggestions?

Juliano's, on Broadway and 6th in Santa Monica, is the only place I've tried and it's pretty good. There's definitely some tasty stuff on the menu.

Juliano's is great (but expensive). I would say Rawvolution in SM on Main is next best, then Leaf Cuisine in Culver City. It is also worth the trek to Cru in Los Feliz. You can start by trying some of the raw dressings and cheesecake at Whole Foods or Erhewon. They are surprisingly good. I am not a hard core raw foodist, but have been turned on to it in the last couple of years and have found some things I really enjoy.

Also, although it is not totally raw, M Chaya also has some good raw choices, and you can still grab a Ahi tuna burger or veggie bacon BLT (also pretty darn good) while your friend "gets raw".

Fritto Misto is quite accommadating to most weird food choices; maybe call them to see what they can do for you?

Euphoria presents Rawvolution is very good. I couldn't care less about the raw food movement and still enjoy it very much.

Not the westside at all, but if you ever end up in OC around Little Saigon with your friend or want to take them someplace a little more interesting, Au Lac is a Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant with mock meats (like a lot of chinese mock meat places in the SGV), but also with a really great raw menu.

I am a big meat eater myself, but the raw 'cream' sauce they use is insanely delicious, no matter what your standard diet could be... I love the cabbage wrapped things with cream and nuts that they call 'tacos'. I'm guessing the raw food world is small and your friend has heard of this place before... but I'll vouch for the fact that even for outsiders the food there is quite good.
