Keg Lobster fest.

Does anyone know if this is still on? I went on the website and no mention of it anywhere. I am thinking about going there tomorrow for dinner. If anyone has tried it, can you tell me if it is worth it? Thanks Chowhounds.

This is somewhat related to the original post. The keg currently is offering Lobster Gratine on the menu...Would anyone know what the ingredients are? I tried googling it but with no luck...Thanks much...

Why don't you phone them? I'm sure they'll tell you what is involved....

You must be using a different Google from the one I use. :-)

Start your meal with the Lobster Gratine, featuring oven-baked lobster with garlic, herbs and melted Monterey Jack and Cheddar cheeses.

The Keg is dishing out 2lb lobsters this season which explains their higher than usual price tag!

My advice: ask the server to get you an undressed lobster, packed with roe and live when it hits the steamer.

Found the promotion & menu on the Keg website:

http://en.kegsteakhouse.com/news/lobs... - there is a link to the menu.

Trying it out tonight! Thanks for the heads up.

Oh, I forgot to mention... I didn't even know lobsters came that big until my experience there. But maybe that's just me.

approximately how large are they? saw this post in the chow deals of the week thread and it's pretty enticing sounding.

for $20 you're getting a whole lobster though it doesn't seem to come with anything else which can leave people a bit starved as i've personally never found straight up seafood to be that filling. i can certainly pack away the oysters like no tomorrow.

I went about two weeks ago and I believe the menu said it would be on until August. I had been craving lobster and I went into the location at Yonge and Eg and didn't see any promotion for it, but went ahead and got a table anyways and ended up lucky, so it doesn't surprise me that you haven't been able to find anything on their website. I might be inclined to call ahead to the location you're planning on visiting just in case it's select locations. The whole atlantic lobster was $39, and even still with my lobster craving I debated against getting my good old prime rib, but decided to go for it and I was more than satisfied!! (My dinner partner who waited over an hour and a half for me to get through it all was not nearly as enthused.) If you're like me and you're torn between that and a favourite, my waitress advised me to get half of a fresh lobster for $18 as a side to another item (this option didn't seem to be on the menu and I didn't hear her offer it initially with the specials; also take note that it's the fresh lobster and not the frozen tails they normally have on the menu).

I hope you like it. I'm personally going back again before it's over!

I have had this promotion in the past and it is a great deal. I always get the top sirloin (keg sized) and half lobster dinner. Reasonable price for a great meal that you would spend much more elsewhere.
