Shelf life of canned truffles

mocro Jul 14, 2008 08:23 PM

I came across several imported canned white truffles someone left as a housegift - I swear 10 years ago. That's what saving something for a special ocassion gets you! It's one truffle per tiny can. The cans aren't bloated and I can still hear the truffle rattling around. Is there any chance they wouldn't kill me? I don't want to open until I have a haz mat team at the ready.

even though it's a white truffle, I would throw it out. Unless it's wine, cheese, or vinegar, nothing 10 years old is going into my mouth lol
