Meadow, Simsbury CT
We have been going to the new asian place in simsbury called Meadow. The food is outstanding. The sushi is some of the best in the area and the american chinese is fantastic. I took customers from work here and they were all very impressed. The manager is extremely helpful and often throws in free apps for bringing new friends in. It is a trendy looking place with a nice outdoor feel. Try the sesame beef.
PS this is not a take out restaurant but they do serve take out. Their strength is dine in.

It's been over a year since this thread started and almost a year since the last mention. Has anyone been here recently? Is it worth the trip from Hartford?

re: Scargod
it's still going strong. classy atmosphere, attentive waitstaff. reservations are useful on weekend nights...it does get busy.
we go here often, mainly for the noodle dishes that Sakimura (another fave close by) doesn't serve: yaki udon, panfried noodles, what i think of as stir-fried comfort food. we haven't spent too much time on the Chinese part of the menu, which is full of the usual suspects. the sushi is good.
one quibble which i think was posted on another thread: if you want rice with your dish, it's extra $$.
come on up and let us know what you think!-

Thanks, we will. Now that we have a nice BMW (from the dealership in Hartford), we have an excuse to dine in Hartford besides stopping when we are going to or from the airport. I have been pleased with the overall level of food in Hartford and it's a nice change of pace from the New Haven area. I particularly like the ethnic food I am finding.
It's nice to see a new person (at least to me), pop up on Chowhound with good and fresh info. Thanks!

I agree, this is a great addition to Asian fare....we found the sushi was very good & the cooked Asian dishes were very tasty and reasonable. Excellent staff.
Not sure if you have tried Ginza in Bloomfield (they also own Feng's), they are my favorite for sushi & are opening a new location - Shoppes at Farmington in Canton.›4 Replies
