July-August DESSERT COTM THE PERFECT SCOOP - Sorbets, Sherbets & Granitas

Here's the thread for the chapters in The Perfect Scoop entitled: SORBETS, SHERBETS, and GRANITAS.

Please feel free to point to other posts that seem particularly helpful or interesting (fab successes or flops, too) in other threads in the DCOTM

I've made a separate thread for the website. Please post recipes found on the website under that topic.

Thanks. I'm really looking forward to this one!

  1. Tried the chocolate sorbet. I used Ghirardelli cocoa & bittersweet chocolate. It was extremely rich, too rich for our 9 year old. But with roasted peanuts I really loved it.

    1. A few months ago, late spring, during the height of mango season, I made his mango sorbet (which includes a tiny bit of rum).

It was seriously good (though it did probably help that I had really good mangoes). Just remembering it makes me smile!

      1. Has anyone made the banana sorbet? I loved the roasted banana ice cream, and am curious about a comparison. And am considering making the sorbet with roasted bananas...
