Need Update on Laguna Beach, CA - Cedar Creek Inn closed

Was told when looking at the Cedar Creek Inn, San Juan Capistrano, that their branch in Laguna Beach is now closed. That is such a great location for dining before/after the Pageant of the Masters, I would like to know what is now holding its space at 384 Forest Ave., Laguna Beach.

Can anyone help me here? I've moved away, but not too far to visit some times.

P.S. I really enjoyed Cedar Creek Inn for many reasons.

  1. I think it's called 'The Lumberyard Restaurant.' & don;t think it's open quite yet, but could be wrong. Also heard it's owned by the guy who owns Oysters in CdM so food & esp. cocktails should be good!

P.S. Good to see you, kcgirl - it's been awhile!

    1. re: torta basilica

I was never impressed by Cedar Creek, but really old timers will recall that the place actually was a lumber yard/hardware store at one time.

    2. TBasilica is correct. Cary Redfearn (owner of Oysters in CdM) is about to start remodeling the site. He said he hopes to open in a few months.
