French/Italian in Brooklyn

We've just moved to FiDi and are interested in venturing to Brooklyn for some meals. Could you guys recommend what's considered great places to eat French/Italian food?

French: Quercy on Court Street. Jolie Bistro on Atlantic Avenue. Patois on Smith Street. Italian: Second the suggestions already made and don't let the name Noodle Pudding fool you ... really good Italian food!

Al Di La on 5th Ave is considered one of Brooklyn's great Italian restaurants, but before "venturing to Brooklyn" make sure to get your shots.
