Fine Dining Restaurant/Inn between Coubourg and Scarborough, Ontario

I am looking for a excellent dining experience for a special occasion. I have guests travelling from Brighton and T.O. so I was hoping to meet somewhere in the middle.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I thought along the lakeshore would be nice. Cost is not an object. It is for approximately 10-12 guests on a weeknight.

The shore line of Lake Ontario has been generally neglected by restaurateurs between Scarboro and Prince Edward county. Port Hope is half way for you, but most places are on Walton Street, safely away from the shore line.

I can think of only one, Victoria Inn about 10-15 minutes drive north of Cobourg. I can only speak to the dining not the accommodations. It's fine "country" dining as even the proprieters would describe it. This is not Scaramouche. I don't believe you'll find that within your parameters. What you will find are small restaurants serving simple country fare that, with luck, are done well. This is one such place. Oh and if your friends like patio dining, this one is great. Especially as the sun sets over Rice Lake.
