Chinese restaurant on Staten Island

Don't need anything special, just a place open for lunch to take my father to on Monday. Thanks!

      Great Kills, New Dorp, near the Mall, those are the areas where I will be. Thank you!

        Ahhh.. I can rec several worthwhile places. The one that's very convenient to your location is Oriental Taste. It's located in a strip mall on Richmond Ave and Arthur Kill Rd. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the restaurant is spotless and the decor is warm and inviting. I've found the food to be very good. Very extensive menu. If it's something that is a plus for you, as of my last visit they had a small sushi bar as well. At least on my visits during dinner hours (both weekday and weekend,) it was quiet and the service was fine.They seem to do an extensive takeout business. Of course, the parking is plentiful and free. Here's a link to their menu.
        I like that they offer a very extensive 'combo' choice. EG: I don't usually see Grand Marnier Shrimp as a combo plate.offering.
        If you're going to be closer to New Dorp Lane, you might want to try,
        King's Chef
        331 New Dorp Ln
        Staten Island, NY
        (718) 987-2323
        I've only eaten there twice, but I've had takeout a couple of times and it was decent. They have a very small parking lot on the side of the building (Clawson St) but I'd advise looking for street parking.
        If you and your Dad want really good food and don't mind a very casual, sort of cafeteia takeout/eat in style, you might want to check out my favorite takeout place:, Empire East. It's located in a strip mall on Hylan Blvd and Tyson's Lane just down from the Stop and Shop It's primarily a takeout place, but it's a lot bigger than your average takeout restaurant. They have a nice room with tables and I've seen many people order at the counter to eat in. Of course you are your own Server but if cost is a factor, it represents a savings. Here's their menu.
        I don't know your Dad's age, but if he is the more 'traditional' type of Dad, and this get together is for a nice visit/lunch, he'd probaby prefer the Oriental Taste or King's Chef environment.
        Wherever you go, I hope you have a great time with your Dad! :-}

    2. King Chef pretty good. Empire East is better.
