Southern VT: Great food and dog-friendly?

We are headed to Newfane/Brattleboro/Putney area with our two dogs - where are good spots to get great food and not have to leave the dogs in the car?

I guess this means patios, decks, sidewalks, etc. where well-behaved, leashed canines can hang out - a second option could be B&B's or Inns with nice dining that are pet-friendly and would let the leashed dogs stay in the yard or on the porch - a final alternative would be places with really shady parking options nearby.

Great food spot recommendations in this area also would be good for the evenings when the dogs will be sleeping at our inn (with no restaurant or kitchen facilities on site for us).

Any experiences or recommendations greatly-appreciated!

  1. Dog friendly in Putney:

Front Porch Cafe - there are always several dogs there (owner's and customer's).
    J. D. McCliments Pub - huge deck and I have seen people bring small dogs.

The food is great at both locations.

I can't really think of any dog-friendly places in Bratt. Maybe the outside tables at Amy's Bakery Arts Cafe or the Creemie stand at the Chelsea Royal Diner?

    1. top of the hill grill in brattleboro.. all outdoor seating, dog-friendly

Of course! Very good suggestion and I can't believe I forgot about them.
