Looking for a place that has good lumpia and adobo in the Southbay area (Gardena, Torrance, Carson, etc.). My Filipino students used to bring me some, but now that it's summer vacation I need to get my fix. Suggestions? I'm willing to drive to LA too.

The new Tita Celia's on Carson Street has good Filipino food.

From the 110 south, take the Carson exit and take a left. It will be on your right side. They moved from their old location and the new place is bright, clean and with AC. Make sure to try the lechon kawali (deep fried pork belly) and their sinigang (fish in tamarind soup). Their menu changes daily so you might want to call ahead and see if they have your lumpia and adobo that day. And don't leave without bringing home some banana cue!

It's been about a year since I've last visited Iba'n Express, this is a nice little hole-in-the-wall, good food, cheap, nice people. They make a good pancit, and a good dinaguan if you're so inclined.
