Bj's Finds
I let my Sam's Club membership lapse, and went yesterday to look at both Costco and Bj's. I wound up choosing Bj's as it seemed more of a one stop shopping destination, ie. greeting cards and wrapping paper, and other things I know that Sam's doesn't have. Can you tell me what your favorite Bj's items are?

Here's another good find. Our BJs now has a slice-to-order deli counter. I got Land O Lakes american cheese for $3.50/lb. That's about half the regular price at Harris-Teeter, and you can get as little as you want, so no need to buy three pounds of cheese if you just want to make a couple of sandwiches.

re: Bob W
I went last Saturday and didn't notice a deli counter like that, but I did see a serve it yourself bagel thingee in the bakery department. I put two bagels in a bag, and when I got to the checkout, they wouldn't let me buy them! They said I had to buy 9! It would take me forever to eat 9 bagels! Shoulda frozen them I guess...

Agree with stacylyn, depending on location (I'm in Raleigh NC), the meat selection is surprisingly good. I've gotten excellent london broils there, and with a bit of marinating, they're as tender as a pricer cut. They also have these snack thing, Mrs. May's, they're little nut/seed/dried fruit things, that Organic Kid loves to have for snacks or packed in lunch for school. I've seen them at Harris Teeter for about twice as much, so finding them at BJ's was great. They're starting to stock organic milk and butter, YEA!

We have memberships at both Costco and BJs. BJs is not as glamorous but it has a wider selection in many areas, such as canned fruits.
One of our favrorites at BJs is the bags of Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts, which Costco doesn't seem to carry.
