Petrus (London)-Marcus Wareing

Hi there, does anyone know when the Marcus Wareing restaurant will be opening and when they will start taking reservations? I had a reservation for October at Petrus but they phoned to cancel it..It's all a bit annoying.

It's closed from September for refurbishment and will be reopening early next year, probably January.

It will be worth the wait!

Speculation on another board that this marks the divorce of Wareing & Ramsay and it will reopen as a Marcus Wareing restaurant that is independent from GRH.

Well, I had made the res as I thought I would like to see what Marcus or his kitchen could do. I have been offered by GRH to make a res in another GRH restaurant for the same weekend, obviously when I ask about the Marcus Wareing restaurant they say nothing. So, I emailed the manager of food and drink at the Berkeley and they say yes indeed Marcus will be opening up a restaurant there but they don't know when they will open or start to take reservations. They said they would get back to me when they know..

I was in a similar position, having made a reservation at Petrus for Sept via their website. Silly that it allowed me to - anyway, got a call from Petrus who tried to get me to book a table at another GRH restaurant. With a bit of lateral thinking I decided to phone Concierge at The Berkeley who inform me that the restaurant is closing between 6-29 Sept for renovation. It re-opens after that time with a new name and with Marcus Wareing's name on the lease. Concierge have booked us a table for Oct and we have email confirmation of this.

It would seem great minds think alike but you were a bit luckier on that front. I did not phone the Concierge but the manager for food and drink, twice and then emailed them. I did get an email saying they valued my interest and would get backto me as soon as they started to take reservations! Still haven't heard from them.. Obviously I need to phone the Concierge. We had been considering our options for that night and had decided on Foliage but maybe I will see what the Berkeley has to say.. Thanks for letting me know!

Hearing about your experience I hope the hotel has not been too optimistic about the re-opening date - and we end up being disappointed after all. Will wait and see. By the way I spoke to someone called David at Concierge who seemed to be 'switched on'. Good luck!
