Hi! My husband and his colleagues are looking for a good food good ambiance dinner restaurant in Danvers (or near Danvers) for a weekly dinner. Any thoughts? My comfort zone stops at Medford.

How about the Downtown Bistro in Lynn? I haven't been, but a fussy coworker loves it. Or Ithaki in Ipswich? I have been and I love it.

I haven't been there in a few years, but Ristorante Donatello on Rt. 1 North was always good...I used to live in Danvers and I grew up on the N.Shore but I am drawing a blank right now on anywhere else!

Ispwich is kind of out of the way but Zabaglione is very good, or for a casual pizza joint there is the Riverview.

In the summer, I head straight for The Danversport Yaght (sp?) Club.

The ambiance? Eating al fresco overlooking the picturesce boats/water, and lovely kept grounds. The food is pretty good too.

        And it's pretty casual.

Malden - Exchange St. Bistro is fabulous.
Danvers/peobody (can never tell the difference) - The Hard Cover
          Saugus - Donatello.

How about Grappa's in Danvers Square good food, small place, nice servers. Pellana in Peabody good steakhouse for the local area, nice atmosphere very attentive service.

Alas, Grappa's is closing at the end of August due to, as reported in the Danvers Herald, a combination of family pressure and a difficult economy. It will be really missed in this town as the food was great but the owners and staff were even greater. I would recommend Lucciano's as an alternative as the food and service is quite good and the prices fairly reasonable.
