Yogurt marinated chicken (MMRuth)

Found an old post of MMRuth's for a yogurt chicken recipe. The recipe called to broil it in the drawer of a gas oven for 12-15 mins, however my oven is electric.

The chicken's marinating as we speak....nearing on an hour....and I'm getting hungry :(

Will I have the same results broiling under my electric oven for the same amount of time? Or should I bake it instead? And at what temp?

Any help is really appreciated & thanks to MM Ruth for posting the original recipe.

  1. Sounds good! Can you post the link to the thread of the recipe? I'm also looking for chicken recipes. I also have an electric oven so will be interested in the responses. Thanks.

Great, thanks. Let us know it comes out. Sounds great, and fairly easy which is right up my alley! Thanks.

    1. I make yogurt tandoori chicken. I marinate it overnight in yogurt and spices and bake at 375 for about 45 minutes for chicken on the bone. If it is boneless I might broil it as suggested. Either way it should be fine.

Well it's in under the broiler now (on the LO setting). I just flipped it and have a couple mins to go. I will let you guys know how it turned out.

Sorry - just got home from dinner out - but I would think that the timing would be about the same under an electric broiler. Hope it worked out for you.

It worked out great - I've been eyeing that recipe for a while (on a couple different posts), wish I had tried it sooner. The chicken was beautifully tender. I also wish I had reserved some of the yogurt marinade to enjoy with the pitas we had. Thanks for posting that recipe. It is delish.
