Game meat

What butcher has the best game meat in Toronto?

Lady & Son just got a whole Bison in, but she's putting some age on it (dry), so it won't be ready for a couple of weeks. Well worth the wait, I'm sure.

Do you have any idea whether the bison was totally grass-fed, or had it been grain finished? Did they mention which farm they got it from?

There's a game guy at St. Lawrence north and sometimes Brickworks. I've had elk striploins for less than 8$ a pound. Very good.

Springcreek Farm Produce on Roncey has some. (Elk, Bison) Mostly frozen but they could probably get you fresh to order.

There is also a game meat stall at the SLM North Market on Saturdays.

Wild Boar bacon and Elk Jerky.....mmmmmmmmmm!

Some of the game meat at Whitehouse is supplied by 2nd Wind Elk of the Famers' Market. I note that it's less expensive at 2nd Wind. However, Whitehouse cherry picks their selection and so offers the higher quality version of the same product. This is a very casual observation based on a small sampling. YMMV.

Not sure if it's the best (haven't compared really), but whitehouse meats at SLM has a good selection.
