Lunch near 67th Ave/101? (Glendale)

I'm venturing into unfamiliar territory for golf this weekend - the west side! What non-chain options are their for a casual lunch near 67th Ave and the 101? I would be willing to travel about 2 miles in any direction from that location before jumping back on the freeway. Thanks so much!

  1. There's a Dillion's location just north of the 101 at 59th Ave. Never been, but we did like their T-bird/101 location. There's a Sakana location in the shopping center in the NW corner of 101/59th Ave I used to go to for lunch when I worked nearby. Lots of chains near there. There's an AJ's at 67th and 101 on the SW corner. 59th Ave/Bell has some interesting choices. Indian (Maharaja Palace), sushi (Tokyo Lobby, very good), and a ton of other chain/non-chain places.

    1. Headed to my part of town :)

There is an Abacus Inn in the Albertson's shopping center on the NE corner of 59th & the 101. OR try Oggies on the SE corner of 67th & the 101- it’s a pizza/brewery type of place, really good food and sort of a restaurant meets sports bar type of feel.

Cool thanks, I didn't know there was an Oggi's there. I actually picked up a menu from them at the Great Arizona Beer Fest, but hadn't visited. They have some nice beers on draft, so I think that's gonna work out.

      2. You cannot miss mi cocinas mi pais. That place has, hands down, the best empanadas and tamales I've had in the valley.
