Solaia in Greenwich...

What's the word these days...any recent experiences there?

  1. i haven't been there in a year but i heard the chef ,sous chef ,and pastry chef left and are at market in stamford.

      We went in May on a sunday afternoon and the food is still fantastic. And I went last month again still good. My hsuband sasi the kobi beef burger was the best burger he ever had. The soft shell crab sandwich is outrageous. I had the seared scallops with spinach fantastic. And who can forget the lemon ricotta pancakes yummy. My friend had the pasta bolognese and it was great. And the meatballs are so light and wonderful
      We always have the fried ricotta balls for dessert- to die for.
      I am going next sunday for my birthday.

    2. Thanks for the info...dropped in for a tasting at the bar and it was quite good. What we had: fresh mixed baby green salad with shaved vegetables, sweet herbs and ricotta di Bufala; Solaia Bolognese, house made tagliatelle with a tasty ragu of veal, pork and beef; and lovely plump pan seared Maine diver scallops with creamless 'creamed' spinach and roasted cauliflower...There is a major selection of wines by the glass.
      I understand the current chef had worked with Rocco at the former Union Pacific in Manhattan. We will return...
