New Bedford/ Fall River/Newport: Anniversary dinner ideas
my best friend and her husband are chowhounds in Boston...I am a chowhound oin SF and need a few ideas for their 2nd anniverary dinner. the hubby is surprising the foodie--she and I (and he!) prefer the small and funky vs. something big and splashy--if you know Dali in Boston that's more our style..small, intimate, great food. does anyone have any suggestions thanks in advance!

For fun atmosphere and good food try the Waterstreet Cafe in Fall River( 36 Water Street) It is next to Narrows Center for the Arts which has great folk concerts and would make a nice night out
The Back Eddy in Westport is on the water and is also good (but can be very crowded on the weekends and is not really funky)but it is close enough for a evening beach walk after dinner
For a fun dinner for foodies- the Westport Rivers Winery has a dinner & wine series which I have heard good things about- gorgeous location- great wine
