We're staying at Hotel Providence soon, and understand that their restaurant has been renovated and recently reopened as Aspire. Has anyone tried it? Couldn't find much on it either on this board or on the hotel's website. Wondering about menu, food quality and price. If you've been there, love to hear your comments. Thanks.

  1. I went to Aspire last night for restaurant week. The decor is absolutely gorgeous with lush colors and giant chandeliers. The food is typical restaurant fare. I didn't get a look at the regular menu prices but I'm assuming entrees are in the mid-20s. the bar is beautiful and seems like a fun place to get drinks.

I had the ceasar salad which is the best I've ever had. Their croutons were garlicky and not too hard. My bf got the fried calamari which was also pretty good. The portions were huge -- we were kinda full just from eating the starters. We both got the steak frites which came with fries and a side salad. I wasn't too keen on the sauce; it was just too sweet for me. I like my steak simple and unadorned so other people might have liked the sauce. The salad was arugula with shaved fennel and was my favorite part of the dish. The fries were ok. For dessert, I had the creme brulee while my bf got the fourless chocolate ganache tort. the desserts were mediocre in my opinion. if i had to go back, i'd probably just hang out at the bar and grab a ceasar salad.

Aspire does have great steaks and they have an shrimp appetizer that is unbelievable. And, I agree, the bar is very cool.
