Sourcing Chinchona Bark for Homemade Tonic

Has anyone here ever made their own tonic? I'm interested in trying, but I don't know where to buy the chinchona bark (it's the ingredient that gives tonic its quinine). There are a couple Internet retailers, like Zooscape, but I am not sure of their reputability. Is this the type of thing that one might easily find in a herbal medicine shop? Perhaps one in the Philadelphia area?

Great article Sku. I recently ordered two bottles of powdered Red Chinchona from Zooscape. My only complaint is it took about 3 weeks to get the product, but they said that was do to a sourcing problem. I haven't had the time to turn it in to tonic syrup as yet, so I can't comment on the quality.
