St. Louis: Carl's -- Is The Root Beer Still Good?
Going to Carl's is one of the great memories of my youth. We lived in Kirkwood, and occasionally were taken to Carl's on Manchester. I remember the big schooner of root beer, and how luscious and vanilla-y the root beer was.
Is the root beer there still good? Did they change it over the years?
This was also around the time when A&W's root beer was still tasty, and
also was served in big frosty mugs.
But the schooners at Carl's -- that was really something.
Any memories, reports on the place? And the root beer?

Me and the hubby stopped in there a couple of weeks ago. He loves Carl's, takes him back to his high school days. I had a cheeseburger and a root beer. Really good!

I have wonderful childhood memories of the old Fitz's, under that overpass off of Brentwood. The only place I liked the root beer, and Mom adored their kitchenburgers.

I have been to Carl's recently and still recommend it. The root beer is great. So are the hamburgs.
But it still seats about 12 at the counter. So plan ahead.
