Are they the world's best donuts? No.

Are they very, very good dunuts? Absolutely.

I was back at World's Best Donuts a couple times over the weekend. Of course, the closer you can get to eating them right out of the fryer, the better. I can only vouch for the plain cake donuts and the sugared cake donuts this time. They are crispy, very nice density and not overly greasy.

It's not a new discovery of course, but this serves as a reminder. World's Best Donuts is still a good Chowhound stop for a snack in Grand Marais.

They're OK but no where near the world's best or even Minnesota's best. But in a small town you can't resist trying them because of the name. Great marketing.
