Saturday night post-wedding afterparty spot

I'm getting married in November in the midtown/gramercy area and I'm looking for a place to host an afterparty (post 1:00am). The ideal location would be nearby (possibly even walking distance) and wouldn't necessitate shelling out additional $$ for a "private space" but would be able to accomodate 20-30 people who want to continue the party without a hassle at the door. I'm thinking something akin to the type of place where you can cordon off a space for a birthday party or something. We would also love a place that either served food or was willing to let us bring food in for those late, late night munchies, though this is not really a requirement. Finally, decor, theme, etc... are less important than finding a spot where we can all hang out for at least a couple of hours after the reception ends at 1:00.

Also, if anyone knows of a place that isn't in midtown, happy to hear about that too!

Thanks so much, in advance, for your help!

  1. I would try Pop Burger.
You can order food there. There is no way you are going to get food into any after hours place.

    1. Bulls Head Tavern 3rd. @ 23rd: While many bars and tavern are the same in the city, with 20-30 people you will kinda make it your own. I have been to a number of birthday and halloween parties there as well as after-parties. Live bands as well. call them to let them know your coming and should get low- to no-cost for the group.

      1. Hey, MoxieMax,

        Congrats on the upscoming nuptials!

This might seem a bit off the wall, but how about Sarge's Deli? It's on 3rd, b/t 36th & 37th. Open 24/7. Large enough to accommodate an onslaught of 20-30 people. And, of course, there's food.
