AVOID Malibu Grill like the plague!
Last night I was in the mood for a steak and didn't feel like Morton's or Ruth Chris. Against my better judgement I went to Malibu Grill in Fair Lakes. This Brazilian Steakhouse served the worst meat I have ever experienced! Every cut, the lamb, pork, steak, and all others except the chicken tasted like a old shoe. The quality of the meat was equal to table scraps, tough as nails and fatty. I couldn't believe how many pieces of meat I had to spit out on my plate because they were too tough. I wouldn't feed this to an animal.
Add in the fact that their draft beer wasn't working and the first bottle of Heineken they served me was room tempature, and it added up to one of the worst dining experiences of my life. The sides were OK and the fresh salsa was the only highlight.
I should have known when they told me it was $18.95 as oposed to Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chau that is around $49.95 Also there were only 3 or 4 other small groups eating at 6pm, another warning sign.
Most times you really do get what you pay for and I learned my lesson the hardway.
Avoid this place at all costs and the new name I have given this place:The Roadkill Grill!

I would get on Texas De Brazil's mailing list. They email me coupons all the time for 20%-50% off dinner prices. I agree Malibu Grill is no comparison and you are better off going to Logan's Road House across the street for your meat craving.

We went to Chima with some friends last year because one of them had a coupon for "free food" for a party of, oh, say 10. We still ended up paying about 100/couple for cocktails and wine.
When you do the math, those places really don't spend all that much on their ingredients...how much protein can a person of normal girth eat anyway? Even by avoiding the salad bar and the super-rich bowl of mashed potatoes they put in front of you, there's a limit. -

AlexDer, thanks for the recommendation on Texas de Brazil and I have done so...I will not spend $45-$50 for this type of meal
Logan's Road House on the other hand serves only better dog food. I had one of the worst porterhouse steaks in my life there a month or so ago and will never go back. The Blue Iguana next door is 100 times better

Eeeuughhhh, yes. Malibu Grill reminded me why I rarely eat meat. The sirloin was gray (!!!), the lamb was more like meat-flavored chewing gum and the sides were blah. The sausage was so strongly seasoned that I was able to eat hafl a link. I think the bacon-wrapped chicken was the only thing that was really palatable. The pico de gallo was the tastiest thing there.
