Romantic and Delicious Dinner Reco's in Mystic, CT area?
Hi,
Would really appreciate some expert suggestions. My husband and I are planning a trip next week to Mystic area (staying at Spa at Norwich Inn) to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Mostly we'll be eating fried clams and lobster rolls, but would like to dress up one night and have a wonderful meal that doesn't involve tartar sauce! Ideally something with an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients.
Doesn't have to be Mystic--could be Stonington or other nearby town.
Thanks in advance!

Definitely try The Up River Cafe in Westerly. Request the outdoor table that sits by itself to the left when you walk outside - it's a large table but if it's not busy they should give it to you. The river flows by on two sides and the table is shaded by a tree. Food's excellent. www.theuprivercafe.net.

Actually, Kensington's at the Norwich Inn would fit the bill--I found it a lovely space with excellent food!

I live in that area and I was thinking about what restaurant I would go to for a special occasion and good food. In Westerly there is Up River Cafe, that would be a nice night. In Misquamicut there is Maria's. Noah's is pretty casual, Shippers Dock in Stonington is beautiful to sit outside and catch sunset.
