Eating in the Sharon, New Castle Area

Karen K Jul 7, 2008 04:59 PM

My husband and daughter will be at a golf tournament near Sharon for nearly a week. I have read some older postings about food in Sharon and New Castle but wondered what anyone could recommend now. My husband is an omnivore, my daughter a vegetarian.

i am from sharon, and i would not recommend driving to youngstown to eat. i don't know where you will be golfing, but across from the tam o' shanter golf course, is a great restaurant called combine brothers bar and grille. it is actually located in hermitage, pa, but only a few miles from sharon. located on rt. 18, one mile north of I-80. worth the trip! nice atmosphere, locally owned, great italian food, and large portions. the restaurant is smoke free. only open for dinner, and closed on sundays and mondays. definitely try!!

On rt. 19 south of Mercer is the Iron Bridge Inn.

If you're willing to drive about 20 minutes to Youngstown, OH:

        Aladdin's Eatery

Middle Eastern cuisine with plenty of vegetarian and meat/fish options

        Armando's Restaurant
3807 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44708-5339
Italian with housemade pastas, the eggplant parm is a great veggie option

        The Flaming Icecube
1449 Boardman Canfield Rd #260, Youngstown, OH 44512
Purely vegetarian/vegan but there are many other restaurants in the same strip
